Made Fresh Daily


Everything tastes better when it is Made Fresh Daily. The light, bright restaurant in the South Street Seaport is located in a 1793 Dutch merchant building that once housed the Knickerbocker Ice company. Knickerbocker filled ice-boxes throughout Manhattan with ice cut from the upper parts of the Hudson River. Where ice was once stored in sawdust awaiting delivery - today you'll find a cozy, warm bakeshop sporting a wall of vintage modernist posters, racks of recent magazines, coloring pads and books for kids.

The menu offers the freshest, lightest fare in the Seaport because it is made with all-natural ingredients  - organic dairy, local farmhouse eggs, unrefined sugars and unbleached flours.  Baked goods are made with Valhrona chocolate and Tahitian vanilla. Visitors enjoy specialties like scrambled eggs on buttermilk biscuit, BLT egg sandwich,  house-made hummus, barbecue chicken salad, ham-cheddar-apple melts, soups and chilies, smoothies like an Orange Julius with organic yogurt and fresh OJ., and baked goods including doughnut muffins, cookies and poptarts. 

Once an editor covering food, entertainment, interior design. and lifestyle for national magazines, owner Jacqueline Goewey has brought her talents to the table. She opened Made Fresh Daily in 2008 to feed her own kids (twins Enzo and Eleana) and the Seaport community.
